Mountain Springs Retreat is an ideal setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and honeymoons.

It is the only house on the lake, so it is quiet and private. The grounds are not visible to any neighbours.
This is the perfect choice for the bride and groom who wish to exchange their vows in an outdoor setting yet want all the amenities of a home.

A 3 night booking is required to host a wedding.
The rate is $1500.00 to rent the house and grounds, including the lawns and parking areas.
There is a cleaning charge of $250.00, which covers the house cleaning, grounds maintenance, and the Hot tub.
HST is applicable at 10%.

Check-in and Check-out times:
If guests are checking out the morning of your arrival, check-in will be at 5:00 to ensure the house and grounds are ready for you. (This time might be adjustable depending on circumstances.)
The rented marquis tent, tables, chairs, etc. could be delivered and set up anytime after 11:00 which is the check-out time for prior guests.
Any activity inside the home would have to wait for the cleaners to be finished.

Commercial General Liability Insurance with Liquor Coverage is required from an independent insurer.
You will need this to cover your extra guests (anyone not on the Guest Registration form) as well as liquor coverage for the duration of your event.
Please allow for processing time period.

There are variables in rates depending on number of guests, etc.
Other Insurance:
Our liability insurance covers the guests who are registered on our Guest Registration form, which is the capacity of the house
Weekend Liability Insurance is available as an extension of your Homeowner’s Policy. This is to cover your guests who may be staying longer than the time period stated on your Commercial General Liability Special Event Insurance Policy, and are not listed on our Guest Registration form.

Liquor Licence:
You will need a Special Occasion Liquor Licence if you are planning to serve alcohol.
Please contact the Liquor Control and Licensing Board for details.

The Liquor Licence application must be submitted to the R.C.M.P. so they are aware that an event is taking place.

Entertainment Plans:
Confirmation of entertainment plans is required. Acoustic music is welcome but no amplified music is allowed. There is a noise curfew of 10:00 pm to preserve the quiet in the neighbourhood.

Guest Parking:
There is plenty of parking if guests park fairly close together. A second parking area could serve well for the Caterers, Tent company, etc. Car-pooling is a good idea wherever possible.

Portaloo Hire:
Weddings over 25 guests must rent a portable outhouse.
All properties in this area are on wells. The amount of water required for guests’ flushing of toilets cannot be supported. We do not want you to run out of water during your wedding so renting a portable toilet is a good solution.
Weddings under 25 guests are not required to hire a portable outhouse, but must be encouraged to conserve as much as possible. “If it’s yellow…” ; )
Coast Portable Toilet Rentals at 380-1166 delivers here on Thursdays and picks up Mondays for the price of approximately $120.00 plus $40.00 delivery/pickup. There are choices and more info on their website
Brown’s Septic Service is another supplier at 478-3353 or direct line to Lisa at 474 4186. Comparable rates and service. Also have choices (ie) hand-cleaner dispensers, flushable toilets, handicapped (a larger size to accommodate dresses.)

Please reserve early to ensure the right weekend for your wedding.

Fires and Smoking:
There is a natural river rock fireplace inside the house, and a chiminea outside. There may be a ban on outdoor fires depending on the season and risk for forest fires as determined by the local Fire Department.
There are receptacles for cigarette butts outside. Please make sure your smoking guests use them.

No pets are allowed at Mountain Springs Retreat, sorry for any inconvenience.

We would appreciate it if your organizers could all share in taking garbage away.
